Upper GI for RaLyn

For the past several months, RaLyn has felt what she describes as a "fur ball" in her throat, and some abdominal pain. She had her thyroid checked, an ultrasound, and a rubber hose up her nose and down her throat, but nothing abnormal was diagnosed. So, the next step was an upper GI. Glorious! The report is pretty high tech, so we decided to post it for posterity sake and to record this as we would a journal, so we remember it next month (we're getting old and forgetful). The doctor found everything pretty normal, except some sort of ring, that is basically scar tissue. He dilated it (stretched it) and said it is likely the cause of the "fur ball" feeling. We are still waiting on the lab results, but hope that RaLyn will eventually get feeling better as a result of the stretching of the Schatzki Ring thingy! Read below if you want details and a great view of RaLyn's insides! Yummy.
